How to Use the MarketPlace
At SurveyorCentral.com we want your shopping experience to be safe and enjoyable. If you have questions about the security of your credit information, please contact us at service@surveyorcentral.com or call us via our toll free number at 1-877-712-1979 and we will be happy to help you.

How to Browse the Catalog:
  • Choose "Browse Catalog" under Marketplace.
  • Choose a Product Category and Group.
  • Click on the underlined text under Summary to learn more about the item including pricing.
  • Click on "More Info" to view the product data sheet.
  • To get back to the list use the "Back" button on your browser.

How to Search the Catalog for a Product:
  • Choose "Search Catalog" under Marketplace.
  • In the keyword search box, enter a word that would be in the name or description of the product you wish to purchase.
  • A list of products matching that word will show on the screen.
  • To find out more about the item including pricing and discounts, click on the underlined text under Summary.
  • To get back to the list of items use the "Back" button on your browser.

How to Place an Order:
  • After searching, if you think you have found the item you want, click the "Order" button. This is a reversible choice.
  • You can fill out the order information at this point or you can continue adding items to your order by clicking on the word "Products" above the order form.
  • If you don't wish to order today, but want to save the information for a future purchase, choose "Save Order."
  • You can delete items from the order by checking the red delete button. To get the corrected total, click the "Recalculate" button.
  • If you want to place the order now, you must have filled out all of the order information that is marked with an asterisk, then choose "Submit Order."

How to Cancel An Order:
  • Send us an email as soon as possible.
  • Be sure to include your name, address and order you want to cancel.
  • If the order has entered the shipping process, we cannot cancel it.

How to use the Software Center (FAQ's)

Where can I get details about the software you are offering?
  • Next to each software selection is a button that says "Learn More?". This will take you to the respective datasheet for each product.

Where can I find documentation such as User Manuals, General Tips, etc.?
  • In the Marketplace you will notice a navigation button that reads "Software Support", click on this link and you will find User Manuals, General Tips or FAQ's and an ask the expert form for each software product that we sell or rent.

How does renting software work?
  • The software is accompanied by tokens that measure the time of usage. After the contract period expires the software becomes unusable, but can be reactivated by purchasing an additional contract.

Where can I go to update my browser?
  • Click on the Software Center Icon on the left you will see 4 items underlined. There you can click on Shareware, this will take you to the Shareware Center Page. There you can choose you Operating System and click on the "Find Software!" button. This takes you to the shareware available for your Operating System. Once you find the browser of your choice then click the "Download Now!" Click save file to disk and note the location of the file. When finished double click on the downloaded file and install.

Where can I find useful utilities like "Win Zip" or Adobe "Acrobat"?
  • By clicking on the Software Center Icon on the left you will then see 4 items underlined. Click on Shareware, this will take you to our Shareware Center. There you can choose Operating System and click on the "Find Software!" button. This takes you to the shareware available for your Operating System. There you will find the Utilities "Win Zip" and "Adobe Acrobat". Click on "Download Now!" Click save file to disk and note the location of the file. When finished double click on the downloaded file and install.

Where can I find CAD images?
  • By clicking on the Software Center Icon on the left you will then see 4 items underlined. There you can click on Shareware, this will take you to our Shareware Center Page. There you can choose Operating System and click on the "Find Software!" button. Choose a Free Cad Images Site and click: "Take Me There".

How to Participate in the Community Message Boards
How to Read Other's Submissions:
  • Choose Message Boards under Community.
  • Choose a topic by clicking on its name.
  • There will be a list that others in the community have submitted.
  • The number of posts is how many people have written on that topic.
  • To read what they've written, click on the name of the underlined text.

How to Add Your Comments:
  • After reading someone else's submission, click reply.
  • Enter your comments in the message box.
  • When you are finished, click submit reply.

How to Start Your Own Subject for Discussion:
  • Under a topic category, click new topic.
  • Label your topic by subject and type your comments in the message box.
  • When you are finished, click submit topic.

How to Search for a Particular Topic of Discussion:
  • Click the search button.
  • Enter a keyword.
  • Click on the drop down arrow to select how and where you want to search.
  • A list of topics will be displayed that contain the keyword.

How to "Ask an Expert:"
  • Click on the "Ask the Expert" text on the home or community page.
  • Fill in your name, company name and email address.
  • Choose the category that best fits your question by clicking on the down arrow and highlighting your choice.
  • Type your question in the box and click send.
  • A reply will be emailed to you.

How to Decide What Software I Need:
  • You need only an Internet Service Provider (ISP) with email. The site works best for users with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x or higher or Netscape Navigator 3.x or higher.

How to Navigate:
  • Clicking the "back" button on your browser's toolbar will return you to the previous page.
  • Use the gray scroll bar on the right side of your screen to move up and down through the current page.

How to Determine Browser Type and Version:
  • Use the settings appropriate for your computer system.
  • Internet Explorer - Click Help - About Internet Explorer
  • Netscape Navigator - Click Help - About Communicator

How to Set the Cache Settings for Internet Explorer 4.0:
Follow these steps to set the cache settings:
  • Click View - Internet Options
  • Under Temporary Internet Files, click Settings.
  • A dialog box will appear. Under Check for Newer Versions of Stored Pages, select the Every visit to the page and click OK.
  • To clear the cache: under Temporary Internet Files select Delete Files. A dialog box asks if you want to delete all files in the Temporary Internet Files Folder? Click OK.

How to Set the Cache Settings for Internet Explorer 5.0:
Follow these steps to set the cache settings:
  • Click Tools - Internet Options
  • Under Temporary Internet Files, click Settings.

How Do I Set the Cache Settings for Netscape Navigator?
Follow these steps to set the cache settings:
  • Click on Options
  • Then go to Network Preferences, and then click on options
  • Then you will see Clear Memory Cache Now and Clear Disk Cache Now.
  • To Clear Memory Cache ?Click? Clear Memory Cache Now
  • You will then see a Dialog box telling that you are about to remove all of your Memory Caching files and asks if you would like to continue? You will need to Click OK.
  • To Clear Disk Cache ?Click? Clear Disk Cache Now
  • You will then see the Dialog box telling that you are about to remove all of your Disk Caching files and asks if you would like to continue? You will need to Click OK.
  • Click OK once again to complete the process.

What should I do if I am receiving JavaScript error messages?

You may be having trouble because your browser is not set to use JavaScript. JavaScript is required for navigation on the SurveyorCentral.com Web site. If you are using one of the browsers listed below, we have provided some instructions on how to confirm that your browser is set up to use JavaScript:

    To confirm that scripting is enabled in Internet Explorer v3.0x, go to the top menu bar, click on "View" and bring your mouse down to choose "Options." The "Options" window will pop up. Click on the "Security" tab to access the "Active Content" area. Check the "Run ActiveX scripts" check box. Press the "OK" button.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer v4.0x
    To confirm that scripting is enabled in Internet Explorer v4.0x, click on "View" in your browser's menu bar, and then click on "Internet Options." The "Internet Options" window will pop up. Click on the "Security" tab, then click on the "Custom" radio button and then click on the "Settings" button. Next, scroll down to the "Active Scripting" section and click "Enable." Press the "OK" button.
  • Netscape Navigator v3.0x
    To confirm that scripting is enabled in Navigator v3.0x, go to "Options" on the browser menu bar, and click on "Network Preferences." The "Preferences" window will pop up. Click on the "Languages" tab and then click "Enable JavaScript." Press the "OK" button.
  • Netscape Communicator v4.0x
    To confirm that scripting is enabled in Communicator v4.0x, go to "Edit" on the browser menu bar and click on "Preferences." The "Preferences" window will pop up. Click on "Advanced" in the "Category" column, and then click "Enable JavaScript." Press the "OK" button.

How to browse Surveyorcentral.com while using AOL:
  • Establish a connection to AOL.
  • Minimize your AOL browser window.
