Professional Engineer

Engineer Registration Requirements

• graduation from a minimum 4-year engineering curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology or substantially equivalent; AND
• 4 years of progressive engineering experience satisfactory to the Board; AND
• certification as an Engineer Intern or 12 years of progressive engineering experience satisfactory to the Board; AND
• passage of the Principles and Practice of Engineering Examination.

Engineer-Intern Certification Requirements

• graduation (or a senior in good standing) from a minimum 4-year engineering curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology or substantially equivalent; AND
• residence or principal place of business in Tennessee; AND
• passage of the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination.
