Professional Land Surveyor
FUNDAMENTALS OF LAND SURVEYING (LSIT) EXAMINATION
| EDUCATION |
AND
|
EXPERIENCE
|
|
Graduation from a college or school in an approved surveying curriculum
|
AND
|
Evidence that the applicant is competent to be enrolled as a land surveyor-in-training
|
|
Two (2) years of formal education in an approved school or college above high school level in an approved curriculum with at least sixty (60) semester hours, or the equivalent, passed with a minimum of fifteen (15) credits in land surveying, engineering, mathematics or related science
|
AND
|
At least three (3) years of combined office and field experience in land surveying of a character satisfactory to the Board that the applicant is competent to be enrolled as a land surveyor-in-training
|
|
Possess knowledge and skill, satisfactory to the Board, similar to that attained upon completion of an approved college curriculum
|
AND
|
At least four (4) years experience of combined office and field experience of a character satisfactory to the Board that the applicant is competent to be enrolled as a land surveyor-in-training

Applicants who have not graduated from a curriculum as above must have a bachelor degree in a related science and submit evidence satisfactory to the Board that they possess knowledge and skill approximating that attained through graduation from an approved four (4) year engineering curriculum AND a specific record of four (4) years or more of progressive experience in engineering work of a character satisfactory to the Board and indicating that the applicant is competent to enroll as an engineer-in-training.

Applicants who have not graduated from a curriculum as above must have a bachelor degree in a related science and submit evidence satisfactory to the Board that they possess knowledge and skill approximating that attained through graduation from an approved four (4) year engineering curriculum, AND a specific record of eight (8) years or more of progressive experience in engineering work of a grade and character satisfactory to the Board and indicating that the applicant is competent to practice professional engineering.
**In counting years of experience, the Board, at its discretion, may give credit, not in excess of one (1) year, for satisfactory graduate study in engineering.
