Gary Reynolds
Areas of Expertise: Topographic and Industrial Surveying, Dam Monitoring
If it's true that "experience makes the man," then Gary Reynolds is as well made a surveyor as you'd ever want to meet. In the last 35 years he's gained experience in a wide variety of surveying disciplines - in environments as diverse as Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Alaska and Oregon.

Since 1981, Gary has been with Portland General Electric (PGE) in Oregon. As Senior Surveyor in the company's Power Supply Engineering Service (PSES) Division, he provides central engineering services for the huge system of water conduit systems (including canals, pipelines and flumes) that support the company's hydro and electric generating plants.

Gary's expertise involves much more than typical surveying. He performs topographic surveys, including bathemetry and property surveys, and specialized industrial surveys to locate, install and modify piping systems, obtain precise levels, align machinery and lay out equipment.

Gary's also an expert in monitoring dams for horizontal and vertical movement. Most of this work involves precise triangulation using permanent pillars for the instruments or a conventional total station technique with the robotic total station. Results are then submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Gary has been a registered land surveyor in Oregon since 1984 and a member of the Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon since 1980.
