AutoCAD is a CAD (Computer Aided Design or Computer Aided Drafting) software application for 2D and 3D design and drafting, developed and sold by Autodesk, Inc.

IntelliCAD is a CAD-software programming toolkit and API published by the IntelliCAD Technology Consortium ("ITC"). IntelliCAD aims (at some levels) to emulate the basic interface and functions of AutoCAD.

What is the differance between Icad/Acad and OEM/Embedded Versions?

Icad/Acad stands for Intellicad or AutoCAD. This version comes with the Intellicad engine or you can install it on your copy of AutoCAD from version 2000 to present.

OEM/Embedded means that AutoCAD is included.

Is the Intellicad version compatible with AutoCAD?

Yes, Intellicad works in a native DWG drawing format. Intellicad can open drawings you receive from others that are using AutoCAD products and they can open the drawings you send to them.

Carlson Survey+ GPS

Do I have to have a SIM card to use the Surveyor+ GPS System?

No, there are many other options for getting the network corrections. You can teather a phone using a dial up network connection. You can use a cell phone with a Wi-Fi hotspot. You can use a Verizion Mi-Fi devise or similar. You can even use a local area Wi-Fi signal if availible.

How does the Surveyor+ GPS System work?

The system uses a Real Time Network such as a Trimble VRS, Topcon TopNET GNSS Network,  Leica GNSS Network or other brand to receive GPS corrections for sub-centimeter accuracies. The corrections are broadcast over the Internet for anyone with an account on these networks to use. The system uses an internal GSM modem to connect to the Internet to receive these corrections. Other methods of receiving the corrections without using the internal modem are available such as a Mi-Fi card or a cell phone with a hot-spot.
