I traveled to the Carlson Software office in Maysville, KY on 7/26/2010 for a tour of the office. They are in the process of renovating a building downtown to give them more space and to help their local community. It should be very nice when it is complete in about a year.
I also went to the GPS road show in Lexington, KY on 7/27/2010 for a demo of their new Surveyor+GPS. I have to say it is a very nice idea and I often had the same thought myself. Way not just put the GPS board on the data collector instead of having a separate box to have to carry around, great idea! So all you have with this system is an antenna, data collector and pole that is it. Using your locals CORS network or your own base unit you can get real time GPS data in just a few minutes after getting out of the truck. We had a little trouble in the area with the GSM but just used a Verizon MiFi for CDMA connection wirelessly and it work great in the parking lot of the very nice Griffin Inn.
